On weekends, we open the campus and welcome you to explore our site-wide, immersive journey into the mysteries of the Pacific Ocean. Come and learn all about Moon Jellies, encounter live animals in our Discovery Pool touch-tank, join in animal feedings, and even conduct squid dissections if you’re adventurous!

Sea Stars with Sensitivities
New Program!

Sea Stars with Sensitivities is a new program at Ocean Institute which is designed for our guests with ASD or any sensitivity to explore and enjoy. Ocean Institute will be open an extra hour for our Sea Stars with Sensitivities program on Saturday, July 27th. This program focuses on sensory play in addition to all our Grossology activities. You can rent a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, get the scoop on poop in the scat lab, check out a fidget toy, test the properties of slime, take advantage of our quiet corner, and learn about gross ocean science.

Weekend Theme

Join the Ocean Institute as we explore the exciting world of alternative energy, including solar, wind, hydro and geothermal power, with hands on learning activities. Discover how alternative energy sources utilize the ocean to expand their potential, and how this may affect the ocean’s ecosystem. Clean and renewable energy is the wave of the future, come to Ocean Institute to learn why.
