Do you offer discounts on Week-long Day and Island Bound Summer Camps?
Yes, there are 2 easy ways to save! Discounts are subject to camp availability and may not be combined.
Groups of 5 or more who sign up for the same week of camp will receive a 10% discount. To register as a group, please call the Ocean Institute at 949-496-2274. Everyone must register on the same day in order to qualify as a group registration.
Become a Sea Star Member
Ocean Institute members at the Sea Star level or above receive a $50 discount on Week-long Day Camps and Island Bound Camp. An email containing a unique code was sent the last week of February to each member that is Sea Star level and above.”
What are the payment, refund and transfer policies?
Full payment must be made at time of booking. A processing fee is included on all credit card, phone, and internet reservations.
Summer camps are non-refundable for cancellations made 44 days or less before the start date of camp. Cancellations made 45 days or more before start date of camp will incur a cancellation fee of 40% of entire fees paid.
Programs/events usually proceed in light rain and other moderate weather conditions; however Ocean Institute may cancel the program/event up to one hour before the start time in the event in adverse weather conditions or boat-related issues. The decision to cancel rests solely with the captain. Transfers to a comparable program or a refund will be provided if the Ocean Institute cancels the program/event.
Parents who arrive after 4:30pm for afternoon pickup will automatically be charged the $20 fee for After Care.
Parents who arrive after 12:30pm for Sea Squirt camp pickup or after 6pm for After Care pick up will automatically be charged $50.
Before Care and After Care reservations cancelled by 12PM on the Friday before the start date of your camper’s week of camp will receive a full refund. If a full week of Before Care or After Care reservations is made, any days not used during the week of camp will not be refunded.
A $20.00 per program, per person fee will be charged on all transfers and returned checks. Transfers are subject to availability.
What paperwork do I need to fill out for my child’s program?
Program confirmations will be emailed to the email address you provided during booking. Camp information will be included in your confirmation. There will be a second email with a link to all required forms. If requested, you can receive the camp materials via First Class US Mail. There must be a completed Medical Form and an Acknowledgement of Risk Form for each child.
Required forms for Summer Programs will also be available online; please be sure to use the form for your child’s camp. Forms must be submitted online at least one week prior to the start of your child’s camp session. Please complete the paperwork for each camp session your child attends. Forms must be received prior to the start of camp and must be complete.
Is your staff trained in First Aid and CPR?
Camper safety is always our top priority. Instructors are certified in First Aid and CPR. They are also fingerprinted and background-checked to ensure the safety of our program participants.
Are you accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA)?
Yes, the Ocean Institute is ACA accredited and adheres to the ACA’s standards and guidelines.
