Sand Dollar Guild
The Sand Dollar Guild is a fundraising organization benefiting the Ocean Institute. The guild was founded in 1988 and has raised more than $1.3 million for the Ocean Institute.
We have not inherited the ocean from our parents. . .
we are borrowing it from our children. Please help save our home!
The Sand Dollar Guild has been key in fundraising for the Ocean Institute including; the Ocean Education Center, equipment for the RV Explorer, sails for the tall ships, the Ocean in Motion van, the Sand Dollar Courtyard, the Maddie James Seaside Learning Center, and STEM programs with the Ocean In Motion Van. The Sand Dollar Guild hold a series of celebrations and fund raising events every year. Here are the upcoming events:
May 8, 6pm - Sand Dollar Guild’s 30th anniversary celebration in Samueli
September 29 – Battle of the Bands with silent auction, delicious samples from various local restaurants, dancing, raffle prizes and more. Tickets are $55.00, or $100.00 for two tickets. Tickets may be purchased online or from any Sand Dollar Guild member.
December 3 - Holiday glamour fashion show. A light dinner, entertainment, raffle and silent auction, and of course beautiful clothes and accessories from the fashion boutique to help you get in the spirit for this beautiful time of year. Tickets may be purchased online or from any Sand Dollar Guild member.

Sand Dollar Guild Membership
New members are invited to learn more about the Guild and how they can link their concern for the marine environment with the fundraising goals of the Sand Dollar Guild. Members proudly wear a membership pendant depicting a sand dollar and the Ocean Institute’s friendly gray whale.
Dues are payable on January 1st of each year, designating membership from January 1st to December 31st of that same calendar year.
Active Member $50
Shall attend regularly scheduled meetings, participate in and support all fundraising activities, serve on a committee, and support all other activities of the Guild. Shall receive all notices, be entitled to vote and hold office. Must buy TWO (2) admission tickets to the annual fundraising event(s).
Associate Member $200
(Must be an active member for 2 years.) Must buy TWO (2) admission tickets to the annual fundraising event(s). Shall receive all notices but may NOT vote or hold office. May transfer to ACTIVE status at any time during the year.
Sponsor Member $500
Has NO requirements to attend meetings or support fundraising activities. Shall receive all notices but may NOT vote or hold office. May transfer to ACTIVE status at any time during the year.
