WILD Weekend Series
Accidental oil spills in the ocean are an environmental disaster, but most waste oil in the ocean is not accidental. Much of the oil that spills into our ocean comes from human activity in the form of motor oil, industrial runoff, and roadway run off. Come to this WILD Weekend session to explore how oil run off impacts our ocean, prevention methods, and how difficult oil is to remove once in the ocean.
You will experiment with different cleaning methods in your own personal ‘ocean’ to determine if the oil can be easily cleaned and which method is most effective. You can take your experiment materials home to continue your research.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
