Lake Forest Couple Wins $20,000 in 1st Early Bird Drawing of Ocean Institute Home Raffle

DANA POINT, CA, September 11, 2008 - Joy and John Farrell of Lake Forest were excited to learn that they had just won $20,000 in the Ocean Institute's 2008 Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle (visit www.ocean-institute.org). They took the top prize of 35 winners in the Early Bird 1 drawing, held September 3. They have more chances to win as all tickets, including the Early Bird winning tickets, are automatically re-entered for the Final and Grand Prize Drawing to be held November 8, 2008 at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.

"I was so excited. I was on vacation visiting my sister when I heard. I was so thrilled," Joy Farrell remarked. She and her husband plan to use the money to pay off bills.

In addition to the Grand prize of a Laguna Beach home valued at $1.2 million or $1 million cash, over 175 cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded, plus a bonus drawing for multiple ticket purchasers. The 1st prize for anyone buying more than one ticket is a 2009 Lexus RX400h or $30,000 in cash; the 2nd prize is the winner's choice of one of a series of dream vacations that include airfare or $10,000 cash.

New this year is a special "refer a friend" drawing where everyone who buys a ticket and causes a friend or associate to buy one, is entered along with their friend in this drawing and a chance to win several prizes, including the first prize of $15,000.

More than 80% of the raffle’s 20,000 tickets have been sold; the next Early Bird drawing deadline is Wednesday, September 17. Participants who enter by midnight September 17th have the opportunity to win an additional $24,000 in cash prizes plus more.

The final deadline for purchasing tickets is October 22, 2008. A maximum of 20,000 tickets will be sold. However, the Ocean Institute Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Bentley Cavazzi, observed: "Sales to date are well ahead of last year, and we project that our 2008 Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle will once again sell out early."
